"Your imagination is only the beginning"
Overview
Spark Studio is a safe space where users across multiple creative industries can come together to seek motivation, learn from others, and connect with like-minded individuals who are seeking the same thing. We created this design concept during a Designathon to help creative users who may be lacking motivation or inspiration.

Design Challenge
Is there a way to create a space where users are able to improve their skills while getting feedback from others and creating a safe space online?
🧠 Question Breakdown
To better understand the design challenge question, we broke down the question into parts that stood out or key features we wanted to include in our design.
🧘♀️ Self Reflection
📖 Learning and Discovery
🧪 Expiremnetation
🤔 Curiosity
The Solution
Spark Studio is an app that encourages users to continue being creative. Our solution was to create an app to create a digital space where users are able to improve their skills and creativity while connecting with like-minded individuals who may be in the same industry or one they are interested in.

The Research
Understanding our users
After identifying our target users, we conducted primary research based on the secondary research we did to ensure we understood our users in the best way possible.
Primary Research - Survey Results

Lack of Motivation
"That design looks too hard, I don't really feel like doing it"
🎨
Lack of Inspiration
"I don't even know what to make anymore"
But.... 😬
While working on wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes, we checked in with our mentor and he told us that with the intensity and purpose of our app, we should rethink creating a mobile app.
With that, we went back and analyzed our original designs and realized that with what we were proposing, creating a mobile app was indeed not the right approach.

Our Solution
A community where users can come together, and learn/improve their skills by being promoted with daily challenges. Additionally, including a social media aspect in our design encourages users to share posts about their work resulting in them being able to learn from each other.
Sign Up Process
Upon signing up, users are asked about their work field/the field they are interested in. In doing this, they are able to connect with like minded-people who may be looking to learn and improve their skills, or teach others.
Profile Overview
Users are able to navigate through our website/app with very easy clicks and access. The profile page holds information about the daily design challenge, projects they may be working on, and their process.
Daily Challenge Prompts
This feature gives a design challenge to the user so they can further advance their knowledge and experiment with different parts and areas in design.
💡 What I learned
Designing and coming up with a product/service requires a lot of research and ideation. Working on this 3-day designation allowed me to work extremely well under pressure while coming up with key points we wanted to present during our pitch.
One big takeaway from this whole experience is that when creating a product or service for people does not have to include all the little details. You can come up with ideas and bring them to life and then return to them later to work on the nitty-gritty details you did not have time for earlier. Designations are meant to be a fun experience and I really enjoyed my first one.
